Horizontal Directional Drilling

Directional boring, also referred to as horizontal directional drilling, is a minimal impact trenchless method of installing underground utilities such as pipe, conduit, or cables in a relatively shallow arc or radius along a prescribed underground path using a surface-launched drilling rig.

Directional drilling is a steerable process of installing pipes or conduit underground without the need of a trench, and has very little impact on the surrounding areas.

This method is used to causes less disruption to an area and keep the area restoration at a minimum. Directional drilling is  used for a wide variety of projects including parking lots, driveways, landscaped yards, creeks, and under buildings.

Horizontal directional drilling is used to install utilities such as telecommunication lines, water lines, sewer lines, gas lines, electrical conduit and area lighting.
